The Chinese mainland recorded 43 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, including 28 local transmissions, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Thursday.

In addition, 14 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 348 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 95,894, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,167 (11,883 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 63 (63 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,159 (13,742 recoveries, 841 deaths)
