The Chinese mainland recorded 54 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, including 30 local transmissions, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Friday.

In addition, 11 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 348 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 95,948, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,169 (11,887 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 63 (63 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,168 (13,742 recoveries, 841 deaths)
