The Chinese authorities have issued a white paper detailing the demographic development in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The document says the population in Xinjiang, especially the ethnic minorities, has witnessed significant growth since the founding of New China. Professor Huo Zhengxin joined us via Skype in Beijing. He's the director of Strategic Development and Discipline Construction, at China University of Political Science and Law. He said that the population changes in Xinjiang is not unique. The allegation of so-called "genocide in Xinjiang" challenges the common sense.
