One man was killed after a strong earthquake struck Crete, Greece on Monday, local media reported. 

The man was working in a church that collapsed due to the quake. 

The quake was measured at a magnitude of 5.8 and its epicenter was located at a depth of 10 km, the Geodynamics Institute of the National Observatory of Athens said.
