The Chinese mainland recorded 31 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 13 local transmissions, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

In addition, seven new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 337 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 96,081, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,196 (11,897 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 67 (63 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,198 (13,742 recoveries, 842 deaths)
