A herd of Asian elephants in China have captured global attention this year with an epic northbound journey. In their original habitat in Xishuangbanna, a tropical region bordering Laos and Myanmar, there is a special facility designated for Asian elephants rescued from the wild, who were most seriously injured and separated from their family.
