China's former Vice Minister of Public Security Sun Lijun was removed from his position for severe violations of discipline and law, China's top anti-graft body said on Thursday.
Sun has also been sacked from the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Party's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission announced.
According to the report, Sun's "political ambition" had grown to an extreme level and he had ganged up with others to destroy the unity of the CPC. He also led a corruptive life, and had no "moral bottom line," the report said without specifying the amount of money he embezzled.
Sun, 52, will now be sent to the country's procuratorate department.
