The emergency management department of central China's Hubei Province released on Thursday, a final investigation report on a deadly gas pipeline explosion at a market in Shiyan City's Yanhu residential community which happened on June 13, 2021. The explosion killed 26 people and injured 138 others. 

According to the report, there were serious operational flaws at Shiyan Dongfeng Zhongran City Gas Company, which is the pipeline's owner. It noted that severe corrosion in gas pressure steel pipes had caused the leaks that led to the explosion.

The report also concluded that company workers had improperly advised rescuers to end operations before the risk of ignition and explosion had been completely eliminated.
