China's National Health Commission on Monday dispatched a working team to Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, to guide local work on COVID-19 prevention and control.
It came after the city of Horgos in the region reported two asymptomatic COVID-19 cases during routine testing on Sunday.
The two asymptomatic patients were transferred to a designated hospital for quarantine and medical observation. All the 192 close contacts are in quarantine.
