00:41

Tropical Cyclone Shaheen has killed at least nine people and battered parts of Iran and Oman. On Sunday, the cyclone's speed was between 120 and 150 kilometers per hour as its eye crossed the land. In Oman, the cyclone killed three people: two Asian workers and one child. Thousands have been evacuated from coastal areas. Streets in the capital, Muscat, have been submerged. The local meteorology service said Shaheen was later downgraded to a tropical storm after it made landfall. In Iran, authorities said six people were killed in a southeastern port. Iranian official media said infrastructure, including electrical facilities and roads, were damaged.
