California governor declares emergency due to massive oil spill

California Governor Gavin Newsom on Monday night declared a state of emergency in Southern California's Orange County to support the emergency response to the massive oil spill off the coast of Huntington Beach.

Officials said the spill, first reported on October 2, could have poured as much as 3,000 barrels of oil into the Pacific Ocean.
