ISIS on Monday claimed responsibility for a deadly attack near a Kabul mosque, hours after the Taliban said they had destroyed an ISIS sleeper cell in the Afghan capital. 

Through its news agency Amaq, the jihadist group said Sunday's attack that killed at least five people was carried out by an ISIS suicide bomber.

The news comes after the Taliban's spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said Taliban soldiers carried out an operation targeting an ISIS cell in the north of Kabul on Sunday evening. 

The "ISIS center was completely destroyed, and all the ISIS members in it were killed," Mujahid said on Twitter.
