The Chinese mainland recorded 26 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including two local transmissions, data from the National Health Commission showed on Wednesday.

In addition, 12 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 352 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

The Chinese mainland now has a total of 96,310 confirmed cases, with the death toll remaining at 4,636.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,237 (11,931 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 75 (64 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,262 (13,742 recoveries, 844 deaths)
