CGTN spoke to content creator Chen Cuo about her Hanfu journey. With 1.9 million fans on Weibo, Chen said she developed a love for the traditional clothing when she was very young, liking the costumes from historical dramas and even wrapping herself in bedsheets to pretend she was in a palace. She started taking pictures of herself in Hanfu during high school after seeing other bloggers did so and soon became a Hanfu promoter online. Statistics show that most Chinese netizens have a positive attitude toward Chinese national quintessence, with 68.2 percent of online users believing that traditional Chinese culture should be inherited and promoted. Yet, much of the Chinese public has relatively little understanding of Hanfu, with only 42.5 percent of people having even a general knowledge of it. Analysts believe that with the gradual popularization of Hanfu culture, the widespread understanding of this dressing style will increase and drive the development of the related culture and industry.
