Commemorations of the Revolution of 1911 have been held all over China, including across the strait in Taiwan. Joanna Lei, a current affairs commentator in Taipei, said it is important to recall what Dr Sun Yat-sen said in 1912 when the Qing Emperor government was brought down and the new republic was born. China’s goal was to achieve equal treatment, world peace and universal harmony.
