Lionrock, the 17th typhoon hits S China's Hainan Province

Lionrock, the 17th typhoon of the year, made its landfall in Qionghai City, south China's Hainan Province on Friday evening. The typhoon consisted of heavy rains and a Beaufort wind force of eight (20 meters per second) near its center.

The typhoon has formed over the South China Sea on Friday morning. Parts of Guangdong and Hainan provinces in south China have experienced heavy rainfall a day before it formed.
