M6.5 earthquake hits Alaska peninsula: USGS

A magnitude-6.5 earthquake jolted the eastern coast of the Alaska Peninsula, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.  

The quake struck at a depth of 65.5 kilometers, the USGS added.

No tsunami warning was issued for the quake.  There's no immediate report on damages and casualties.
