At least 30 people were killed after a blast hit Imam Barga, a Shiite mosque in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar city, on Friday, according to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan.
Scores of others were wounded, the Mission added.

The attack took place when many worshipers were inside the mosque to offer their Friday prayers. No group has claimed responsibility.
It is the second recent bomb attack against a Shiite mosque in Afghanistan. On October 8, more than 50 worshipers lost their lives and scores of others were injured in a bomb attack against a Shiite mosque in the northern city of Kunduz.
