Investigation into cause of Taiwan blaze underway, authorities say

A fire in a residential building, southern Taiwan, has killed at least 46 people and left 41 injured. The building in the city of Kaohsiung caught fire at around 3 a.m. on Thursday local time. The mayor said the building, which used to house restaurants, karaoke lounges and a cinema, was partly abandoned.
