At least 4 shot during high school football game in Alabama

At least four people were shot at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, U.S. during a high school football game on Friday, according to a Fox News report.

One of the victims is with life-threatening injuries, the broadcaster reported citing police.

The shooting happened at about 9:56 p.m. Friday local time during the closing minutes of a football game between Vigor and Williamson high schools.

Footage from the scene circulated on social media showing players and spectators running away and seeking cover in the aftermath of the shooting.

Details about the shooting remain sparse, though police have confirmed several people had been taken to hospital.

"Multiple injuries have been reported and those victims have been transported to the hospital. One individual has been transferred to the hospital with a life-threatening injury," police said in a statement to reporters.
