Multiple people were dead on Sunday in a residential building in Changchun City, northeast China's Jilin Province, Jimu news reported, citing several residents in the community.

Smoke started coming out from one household on the 25th floor of the building at around 12:30 p.m. The fire and police department have later responded and "several bodies were carried out from the sixth floor," Jimu news said. 

One witness told the news outlet that he heard a big noise and went out to see a middle-aged man lying on the ground, not moving.

Picture shared by Jimu showed suspected blood splash on the ground along with shattered glass and bricks.

"The suspect has fallen to death after committing the crime," it reported citing several witnesses.

Local police has not commented in what they're now investigating as a "criminal case."
