Chinese mainland reports 24 confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 24 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, with two cases of local transmission in northwest China's Shaanxi Province and 22 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.

In addition, nine new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 360 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Among the new asymptomatic cases, two were locally transmitted in southwest China's Yunnan Province.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 96,546, with the death toll remaining unchanged at 4,636.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,294 (11,992 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 77 (66 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,337 (13,742 recoveries, 846 deaths)
