Zimbabwe's media recently reported that the U.S. government is hiring private media journalists through proxy to discredit Chinese companies in the country, promising to pay $1,000 for every story. For some time, the U.S. has gone to great lengths to smear China and hurt China-Africa relations. Instead of spreading rumors and divisiveness, the U.S. should focus on doing things that would be helpful to the African people.
