Zhang Feng elected as member of U.S. National Academy of Medicine

Chinese-American scientist Zhang Feng is among the newly elected regular members of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine (NAM), the academy announced in a statement on Monday. 

Zhang, the James and Patricia Poitras Professor of Neuroscience at MIT, is also a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

The 39-year-old was elected to the NAM for "revolutionizing molecular biology and powering transformative leaps forward in the ability to study and treat human diseases through the discovery of novel microbial enzymes and systems and their development as molecular technologies" and also for his outstanding mentoring and professional services.
