Turkey has summoned ambassadors from 10 countries, including the U.S., France, and Germany. The move is reportedly over demands that businessman Osman Kavala be released. On Monday, several embassies called for a speedy resolution of Kavala's case, saying it has "cast a shadow over respect for democracy."

Kavala has been jailed for four years without a conviction. He denies all charges, some related to a 2016 coup attempt.
