China lit the Olympic flame for Beijing 2022 Winter Games after the arrival of the ceremonial torch from Athens, Greece, at a welcome ceremony held Wednesday at the Beijing Olympic Tower near the National Stadium, better known as Bird's Nest, which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics. Beijing will host the Olympic Winter Games in February 2022, becoming the first city in the world to host both Olympic summer and winter games.
