The Denver Nuggets opened their 2021-22 regular season defeating the Phoenix Suns, thanks to unexpected performances by multiple role players. They should continue that momentum as Jamal Murray awaits his return from injury.

LaMelo Ball again surprised the league by dropping 31 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and six triples in the first game of his second season with the Charlotte Hornets. Equally impressive was Pacers rookie Chris Duarte, who also drained six shots from downtown.

Unfortunately, not all of the NBA youngsters were able to match these two. The first season in the league is always be tough, especially on opening night.
