Biden, Macron discuss cooperation, to meet in Rome late October

U.S. President Joe Biden and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron held a phone conversation on Friday to discuss cooperation in the Sahel and Indo-Pacific regions, and agreed to meet in Rome later this month to pursue continued bilateral cooperation, the White House announced in a statement.

The two presidents specifically addressed efforts to support stability and security in the Sahel, enhance Indo-Pacific cooperation, and increase European defense capabilities, according to the statement.
