Kremlin: NATO plan justifies Russia's decision to end all official dialogue with alliance
01:18

The Kremlin says NATO's new plan to "deter Russia" fully justifies Moscow's decision to end all official dialogue with the alliance. This week, a master plan agreed by NATO defense ministers included statements to defend against potential Russian threats on multiple fronts. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said a Russia-NATO dialogue under such conditions is unnecessary. He also said Russia has never harbored any illusion regarding NATO, adding that the alliance was conceived and formed for confrontation. Days earlier, Russia cut relations by shutting its diplomatic mission to NATO and the alliance's mission in Moscow after NATO expelled eight Russians alleged of spying. The US Defense Secretary has also commented on the worsening relations.
