Sung Kim, U.S. special representative for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Sunday urged Pyongyang to end its recent series of missile tests and resume negotiation.

"We call on the DPRK to cease these provocations and other destabilizing activities, and instead, engage in dialogue," Kim told reporters in Seoul after meeting Noh Kyu-duk, special representative of the Republic of Korea (ROK) for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs.

"We remain ready to meet with the DPRK without preconditions, and we have made clear that the United States harbors no hostile intent towards the DPRK," Kim said.

He also reiterated Washington's willingness to help address the DPRK's humanitarian concerns for its people in need.

"I look forward to continuing to work with special representative Noh to explore different ideas and initiatives, including the ROK's end-of-war proposal as we continue to pursue our shared objectives on the peninsula," he added.
