"Bomb cyclone" unleashes mudslides and flooding in northern California
00:37

A massive storm has brought mudslides and flooding to the U.S. state of California. On Sunday, strong winds toppled utility poles and trees in what meteorologists called a "bomb cyclone". Up to 25 centimeters of rain were forecast to drench the West Coast. The risks of flash flooding rose as the busiest wildfire season in California history left much of the region in drought. Flood warnings were issued in some areas, and powerful winds caused some power outages.
