Beijing has found two new local cases of COVID-19 and one asymptomatic case as of 3 p.m. on Monday, local authorities said at a press conference.

Meanwhile, the Chinese capital also said it's investigating one positive virus test result, which is yet to be categorized as a suspected or asymptomatic case of COVID-19.

The two newly diagnosed patients are a couple in Changping District who traveled to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The residential community where they live was on Monday listed as medium-risk area for COVID-19.

The asymptomatic person was a close contact to the couple, Beijing officials told the press conference.
