After its founding in 1949, the People's Republic of China (PRC) faced hurdles in rejoining the United Nations (UN) despite being a founding member. After more than two decades of efforts, the PRC finally restored its lawful seat at the international body on October 25, 1971, as stated by the UN General Assembly Resolution No. 2758.
