Four people were injured in an explosion at a residential building in Russia's Naberezhnye Chelny, local media reported.

The explosion also destroyed several apartments on two floors in the five-story building. 

Thirty-two people have been evacuated and several people feared to have been buried under the rubble. 

A preliminary report said a gas leak caused the accident.
