Peng Liyuan calls for wider China-U.S. cultural exchanges
Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, on Tuesday sent a congratulatory letter to the campus inauguration ceremony of Tianjin Juilliard School.
Peng spoke highly of the cooperation between the Tianjin Conservatory of Music and the U.S. Juilliard School, saying it has developed a new platform for the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
She also expressed her wishes that China and the U.S. would conduct extensive people-to-people and cultural exchanges, promote mutual understanding between the two peoples and inject impetus into the friendship between them.
As the branch campus of Juilliard School, Tianjin Juilliard School is the first performing arts institution in China to confer a U.S.-accredited Master of Music degree, according to the school's official website. Founded in 1905, Juilliard School is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious educational institutions in drama, music, and dance.
