China attaches great importance to the eighth World Trade Organization (WTO) review of China's trade policies, Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen said at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.

The latest WTO review was conducted on October 20 and 22, as a regular process that takes place every three years.

Since China became a member of the WTO in 2001, the country has received nine transitional reviews and eight trade policy reviews, making it the member that has received the most reviews, Wang said. In 2002, the country established a coordination mechanism for trade policy review, led by the Ministry of Commerce, with the participation of more than 60 departments.
