Sudan's transitional government said the military action against local protesters "amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity," according to a statement released by the spokesperson for the government office.

The transitional government called on Sudan's armed forces chief, General Abdel Fatah al-Burhan, to relinquish power immediately in addition to release all detainees.
