CGTN

The Afghan interim government hopes to be recognized by the international community, which is reciprocal to both the country itself and the world, a senior Taliban official said in an exclusive interview with China Media Group.

The remark came after the conclusion of the second meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighboring countries, which was attended by the foreign ministers of China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Russia.

Senior Taliban official Ahmadullah Vasik said the meeting was with great meaning because the Taliban are now trying to build relations with its neighbors and the international community.

Afghanistan will become an independent country and will not meddle in other countries' internal affairs or be used by them, he added.
