The latest COVID-19 surge in Beijing has been caused by the Delta variant, highly homologous with the virus reported in northwest China, said Pang Xinghuo on Saturday at a press briefing, deputy director of the Beijing center for disease control and prevention. Both belong to the same transmission chain.
