There are 50-430 billion birds on Earth, while the current global population of humans is around 7.8 billion, according to a study. So, jokingly speaking, we have more birds than humans.

Common city birds like sparrow, pigeon and magpie are easy to spot, but if you want to see more birds, you need to go outdoors and be equipped with gears and skills.

About 'Nature Observation Handbook'

Inspired by nature, we have developed different cultures, science, technologies and arts. When modern society has built up a fuzzy fancy world that many of us have forgotten where we are from and why we should appreciate and cherish nature, CGTN Nature releases our new series "Nature Observation Handbook" to help you get back to the arms of Mother Nature.

The "Handbook" is not a stylebook that you have to abide by strictly, but an aspiration that enables you to take the plunge and get started. If you have any interesting experiences or good tips to share with more people, please contact us at nature@cgtn.com.
