Ethiopian government spokesperson on Saturday denied that Tigrayan forces have seized the strategic town of Dessie in Ethiopia's Amhara region.

The town is under government control, according to the spokesperson.

Earlier, Reuters, citing a spokesperson for Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), reported that the town has been seized by the force.
