Two mass shootings were reported at Halloween parties in the U.S. states of Texas and Illinois over the weekend. 

In Joliet Township, Illinois, which is about miles southwest of Chicago, two people were killed and 12 others injured in an overnight shooting, CNN reported Sunday, citing the local sheriff's office.

Police said nearly 200 people were at the party when two men opened fire, sending attendees fleeing. 

According to local media, at around 11:56 p.m. on Saturday, a man opened fire at a party in Texarkana, Texas and shot at least 10 people, including one fatally. 

It's reported that more than 200 people were at the party. The suspect is still at large.
