World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will play in both men's singles and doubles at the Paris Masters next week, rekindling the rest of this season after losing to Daniil Medvedev in the U.S. Open final in September.

Djokovic has won this Masters 1000 event five times. He will be teaming up with compatriot Filip Krajinovic for the doubles match this time, as he takes advantage of this tournament to prepare for the Davis Cup due to kick off in late November.

The 34-year-old Serb will start his singles bid in Bercy against either Italian Fabio Fognini or Hungarian Marton Fucsovics.

In Austria, Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Alexander Zverev dispatched Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets on Saturday to secure his seat in the final of the ATP tournament in Vienna.

The world No. 4 ended Alcaraz's Austrian adventure 6-3, 6-3 ahead of the second semifinal between Jannik Sinner and Frances Tiafoe.

Tiafoe later defeated Sinner 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, setting up the final with Zverev.

The 18-year-old Alcaraz stole the show this week on his way to a first ever ATP 500 semifinal appearance.

He had held his nerve in the final set tiebreak in Friday's quarterfinals to beat Matteo Berrettini 6-1 6-7 (2/7), 7-6 (7/5), but failed to do so against Zverev, who needed only one hour and eight minutes to seal the deal with an ace.
