Jimmy Lai Chee-ying, an instigator of the Hong Kong riots who is currently serving his prison sentence, is now being prosecuted in relation to an illegal assembly in 2020.

The trial began on Monday at the District Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, presided by judge Amanda Jane Woodcock. It is expected to last 10 days.
