A community in Heihe City in northeastern Heilongjiang Province was labeled a COVID-19 high-risk area, while 14 other communities were classified as medium-risk areas, according to local authorities. Heihe City recorded 26 new local transmissions on Monday, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 105.

The latest surge in Heihe City was caused by overseas transmission, National Health Commission official Wu Liangyou said at a press conference on October 30.

The Chinese mainland has also reported a county in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and a community in Beijing as high-risk areas.
