The World Health Organization (WHO) has approved the Covaxin COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by India's Bharat Biotech for emergency use, the WHO said on Wednesday.

"WHO has granted emergency use listing (EUL) to Covaxin (developed by Bharat Biotech), adding to a growing portfolio of vaccines validated by WHO for the prevention of COVID-19," it said in a statement posted on Twitter.
