China has voiced strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to the European Parliament delegation's meeting with Taiwan region leader Tsai Ing-wen on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said during a regular news conference. 

China has lodged solemn representations to the EU side, Wang said. China urged the EU side to correct its wrongdoing and do not send any wrong signals to "Taiwan independence" separatists and harm Sino-EU relations, he said.

He also said the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities' acts of seeking "Taiwan independence" cannot change the iron-clad fact that Taiwan region is a part of China.

A few politicians cannot shake international community's adherence to the one-China principle, or change the general trend of China's inevitable reunification, said Wang.
