The death toll in a collapsed high-rise building in Nigeria's largest city Lagos has risen to 36, local emergency services said on Thursday. 

The 21-storey building was still under construction when it collapsed on Monday afternoon. Building collapses are common in Lagos due to the use of substandard materials and lax regulations.
