Banks provide direct funding to the economy. That's why economists and environmentalists are betting their hopes on banks to guide capital to the green spectrum of the economy, away from high-polluting and high-energy consuming industries. A new risk reporting standard called the TCFD is born to bring global banks together to price in climate risks during lending. CGTN's Xia Cheng caught up with Fang Wenjian via Zoom. Fang is the General Manager of Bank of China's London branch and the CEO of Bank of China UK. Xia raised questions regarding the business impact of the TCFD on banks and filed this report.
