In a procedural move, the cabinet of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida resigned en masse on Wednesday, Kyodo News has reported.

Kishida is expected to relaunch his cabinet after his ruling coalition won the general election on October 31, affording him a mandate to pursue his economic and diplomatic agenda.
